From past two decades we are been told that we have the Potential, we have the capability, we have the resources and we are the next Superpower. But we have not yet reached the mark of becoming the Superpower, but why? We are considered as a one of the emerging superpower. In 2015 India became the world’s fastest growing economy with a 7.5% estimated GDP rate. But as of now India’s GDP growth for January- March 2020 slows to 3.1%. In order to achieve are target we have to overcome various obstacles.

How can we become the Superpower?
Provide Employment : As of today one of the biggest challenge of any country is Unemployment. Unemployment rate in India as per CMIE is 23.6% (29 may 2020). Indian Government needs to focus upon Job creation. Government can create jobs by spending more on Public work, Government can cut Business Payroll Tax for New Hires, create a healthy Environment for Startups just like Bangalore every state needs to promote startups In order to create Jobs and we have to focus on Women and Skill Development.
Strong Economy: India is still dependent on agriculture and tax collection for the most part of its revenue. As our economy is demand run economy therefore the government needs to Increase Public Expenditure which will rapidly increase Purchasing power of the public, we have to revive the Auto sector and help small scale industry.
Improve Education Quality : We have to change our Education system, we have to get rid of Mugging the lesson and Focus on skill based education,we have to start promoting creativity, original thinking, research and innovation and redefine the purpose of education system.
Reservation System : I think the time has come and we have to abolish Caste based reservation and change it to Income based or economy based reservation. Because this system is been mis utilise.
Fair Journalism : Today Journalism has turned out to be a pure form of Business where the main motive of the main stream media is to gain TRP and run the business. All the main stream media have to understand that its their moral responsibility to be fair and bring the issues which concerns the public of our country.
Promote local products : As said by our Prime Minister we have to be vocal to local. We have to encourage local product and try our best to select local products.
Reduction of the gap between rich and poor In one hand we have Mukesh Ambani’s 27-floor house for his five-member family in Mumbai and in the same state we have the Dharavi which is the worlds largest slum.

According to the Ramachandra Guha who is Indian historian and economist whose research interests include environmental, social, economics, political, contemporary and cricket history. India will never become the Superpower. According to him The increasing gap between rich and poor, Disastrous damage to the environment, The apathy of the media, No long-term policy, Territorial instability and Democratic openness are the main reasons why India will never Superpower.
Yes I agree with the fact that we have many obstacles to overcome, It is a long road ahead for India to become a Superpower but saying that we will never become the superpower is a bit unfair. We have the potential and you can’t Ignore the fact that we have the Young population,Achievements of ISRO, our Foreign language skill, Tourism, Democratic republicanism, Candidacy for Security Council and Foreign relations. Which makes us Emerging Superpower and I am confident that one day we will be the superpower. We may have failed to be the superpower in 2020 but one day we will achieve all are goals and 21th century will Definitely be The Indian Era.
